It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our esteemed Saikatsu-san passed away on 1 July 2024, at 4:23 pm, due to pancreatic cancer, watched over by his son and daughter.

He was diagnosed with pancreatic and lung cancer in September last year and had been fighting the disease while receiving medication, but last month, in June, he fell ill and was hospitalised and passed away.
昨年の９月にすい臓と肺の癌の告知と余命宣告を受けてから、投薬治療で闘病中でしたが、
先月６月より体調を崩され入院し、旅立たれました。
We would like to express our sincere condolences to the bereaved family and thank him for his kindness and contribution to the Kinbaku(Japanese Bondage) scene and us over the years.
ご遺族の皆様に心よりお悔み申し上げますとともに、長年にわたる緊縛界・私たちへのご厚情とご功績に感謝し、謹んで哀悼の意を表します。
Saikatsu-san was an assistant staff of AKECHI Denki sensei for a long time and was sometimes entrusted with Kinbaku work on behalf of Akechi-sensei.
Even after the death of Akechi-sensei, Saikatsu-san continued to show passion and dedication to the development of the Kinbaku scene and the transmission of the Akechi-ryū(style) Kinbaku techniques by continuing as an advisor("Komon") to Bakuyū-kai and as an instructor at the Ginza Black Heart Kinbaku classes.
才勝さんは、明智伝鬼先生のアシスタントスタッフを長く務められ、時に明智先生の代理として緊縛師業務を任されてもいらっしゃいました。
明智先生亡き後も、縛友会の顧問や、銀座ブラックハートの緊縛教室の講師を務め続けるなど、緊縛界の発展と明智流緊縛術の伝承に対して、情熱と献身を示されてきました。
In Kanna's Nawashi(Rope Master) activities, Saikatsu-san supported us as an assistant staff at various events and stages, just as he had done for Akechi-sensei, and was involved in the revival of Phantom Show from the planning stage, and was always very encouraging as an advisor.
We are grateful that he was there, not only for the episodes he told us, but also for his behaviour, his attitude and his mannerisms towards others, just like Akechi-sensei, and we have learnt a lot from him as well and respect him as an important person like a mentor and father after Akechi-sensei's death.
神凪の縄師活動においても、才勝さんには、様々なイベントやステージで、明智先生に尽くされてきたようにアシスタントスタッフとして支えていただき、ファントムショーの復活にも立案から関与頂き、アドバイザーとしても常に大変心強い存在でした。
そこに居てくださるだけでありがたく、お話してくださるエピソードだけでなく、立ち居振る舞いや他の方への態度や所作も明智先生のようで、たくさん勉強させていただけて、先生亡き後は先生や父親のような大事な存在として尊敬しております。

He was a very gentle, kind and sometimes playful gentleman, with a warm consideration for everyone, humble and modest, and adored by all.
Saikatsu-san's personality is also remembered through the many messages of condolence from many of you on X (Twitter).
誰にでも暖かいお心遣いをくださって、謙虚で奥ゆかしい人柄で、誰からも慕われる、とても穏やかで優しい、時々お茶目な紳士でした。

We were able to see him tying at the May salon and, like Akechi-sensei, we really admired his ambition to risk his life and fulfil his life's work to be active in his lifetime!
５月のサロンでは縛っている姿も拝見出来て、明智先生と同じ、命を懸けて生涯現役を全うされた志には本当に感服いたしました。

We had hoped that Saikatsu-san would live a longer and healthier life, and there were so many things we wanted him to teach us, to see, and to do together, and we are very sorry and sad that these will not be possible.
Based on what Saikatsu-san had recognised and entrusted to us, we promise to commit to deepen and expand the techniques and spirit of the Akechi-ryu and Kanna-ryu, along with the Akechi's name.
We believe that we can repay our debt of gratitude to Saikatsu-san by working even harder to achieve this and continue to bring enjoyment of Kinbaku and our style to as many people as possible.
いつまでもお元気でもっと長生きしてくださるものと思っておりましたし、教えていただきたいことも、見てもらいたかったことも、一緒にしたかったことも、沢山ありましたので、それが叶わぬこととなり、とても残念で悔しい思いです。
才勝さんに認めていただいて託していただいたものを元に、これからも明智の名とともに明智流・神凪流の技術と精神をさらに深め、広げていくことを約束いたします。
そのために、一層の努力を重ね、今後も多くの方々に楽しんでいただけるよう努めていくことが才勝さんへの恩返しになると信じております。
The funeral appears to have been conducted exclusively by close relatives.
Also, there are no plans for Kanna to personally organise a farewell party as a stand-alone event on our own.
This is because Saikatsu-san was a behind-the-scenes professional who never called himself a professional Kinbakushi(bondage master), shunned the public stage and remained an amateur all his life.
Therefore, we would like to send him off in our own way of remembrance, respecting his wishes and stance before his death, as usual, in the salon and at the Phantom Show, showing him and Akechi-sensei our enjoying Kinbaku, Semenawa, nasty things and enemas that Akechi-sensei and Saikatsu-san loved so much.
(If other organisations would like to organise a farewell party or memorial meeting for Saikatsu-san, we would be happy to help.)

葬儀は近親者のみで営まれたようです。
お別れ会というのを単独で神凪が個人的に執り行う予定はございません。
というのも、才勝さんは、ご自身をプロ緊縛師とは決して名乗らず、表舞台に立つのも敬遠され、生涯アマチュアであり続けた、裏方のプロでした。
生前のご意思やスタンスを尊重し、私たちは私たちなりの偲び方で、いつも通り、サロン内・PHANTOM SHOWで、先生や才勝さんがお好きだった緊縛・浣腸を楽しんでいる姿をお見せしてお送りしたいと考えております。
(他の組織の方が、才勝さんのお別れ会または偲ぶ会を開催されるようでしたら、お声がけいただけましたらお手伝いできればと存じます。)

Coincidentally, 1 July, "Meinichi"(the anniversary of his death), was the same "Shōtsuki"(the month of a person's death) as that of Akechi-sensei (who passed away on 17 July), whom Saikatsu-san respected and admired.
奇しくも、命日である７月１日は、才勝さんが尊敬する大好きな明智先生(７月１７日没)と同じ祥月となりました。
This July's Salon and Phantom Show is a special 19th anniversary edition of Akechi Denki sensei, but since Saikatsu-san attended the May's Salon and Phantom Show, still we cannot believe that his "iei"(portrait of a deceased person) will be next to Akechi-sensei's from this month...
今年の７月のサロンとファントムショーは明智伝鬼二十回忌特別回ですが、
５月のサロンとファントムショーには才勝さんも参加されていたので
今月からは遺影が二つ並ぶことに、いまだに信じられない気持ちでいっぱいです…
